Made of pure 24-carat gold, the American Gold Buffalo is a coin that contains exactly 31.1035 grams of pure gold. The U.S. Mint has been producing this coin since 2006, making it America’s first ever one-ounce 24-carat gold coin.

The 2022 1oz Gold Buffalo features the classic design of its series: a Native American Indian Head. The design was inspired by the portraits of prominent Native American chiefs Iron Tail (Sioux), Big Tree (Kiowa), and Two Moons (Cheyenne).
